A Web Page isn't there just to look pretty!

Not that it shouldn't be attractive, but neither is that it's prime purpose.

Each page on a site has one or more specific jobs to do.

Most often this is to provide information on your company, products or services or to allow visitors to see your products and possibly to purchase them. It is important that the page design makes this easier and not more difficult.

Even a simple form can be daunting to the web neophyte.

We ensure that wherever possible, form fields are checked for possible errors as soon as the visitor completes that field, and alert them to the possibility of an error and give them the opportunity to correct it. This avoids the frustration of submitting a complex form only to be told to redo it from the beginning because there was an error in the first line!

Bad page and site design abounds on the web!

The classic is a certain train ticket booking site where, after completing 8 pages of choices and 20 minutes after you started making the application, you are informed that the service you chose on the second page is not available on the route you chose on the first page!

Why then did they offer it as a choice? The answer is that neither the pages nor the site has been properly designed.

Some pages just look awful ...

...and do nothing to encourage the visitor to use your site, and on some the text is almost illegible due to the choice of background colour or images. Others look wonderful, but finding the page or information you need can be almost impossible!

Other sites keep you waiting for long animations to download that turn out to be merely an animated logo or splash screen. That may look "cool" but will hardly endear the visitor to your site or your company.

Both pages and sites need design.

Design not only provides attractive pages but also pages and sites that are easy to use, easy on the eye and do the job they were intended to do. Well designed sites are also easier and therefore cheaper to maintain and update, an essential if you want visitors to return to your site.
